One of the things we like to do at the SST is to promote artists and inspire our students. We regularly interview leading inspirational artists within the field of textiles to inspire and stimulate ideas.
Today we explore the works and many talents of textiles artists, illustrator, teacher, photographer and author, Pam Holland. As a self-confessed lover of travel, we find out how Pam uses both her experiences and photography to add intricate details to her quilts and find out more about her fascinating style.
Sue Brown has been a professional artist and printmaker for nearly 20 years. Living in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire much of her work is inspired by nature. Although Sue specialises in Collagraph printmaking she continues to explore new interests and techniques that are going to produce highly creative and deeply textural surfaces.
From her first cross-stitch at the age of seven, to authoring her own book on Stumpwork Embroidery. Today we speak with Embroidery Artist and owner of Bluebird Embroidery Company, Helen Richman, to find out more about her inspiration, design process, love for embroidery and passion for British wildlife.
